Breaking News: Former WP member and acupuncturist Zeng Guoyuan to contest in Hougang by-election
Posted by temasektimes on May 11, 2012
Former Workers Party member and acupuncturist Zeng Guoyuan will be contesting in the Hougang by-election as an independent, according to a Facebook page ‘We want a by-election in Hougang SMC within 3 months‘.
Zeng was photographed collecting his nomination forms this morning from the Election Department. He was a Workers’ Party candidate in Bukit Timah in 1991.
He also tried to contest in the General Election last year as an independent candidate in Mountbatten, but did not do so eventually.
Zeng’s intention to contest in the Hougang by-election was ridiculed by netizens who predict he will lose his deposit.
The father of two was fined $3,000 in 2009 for putting up banners – featuring a picture of terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari – without approval. He said the banners were sunshades to protect his shops.
The Workers Party has fielded its veteran leader Png Eng Huat to contest in the by-election against PAP’s Desmond Choo.
Many political observers have predicted an ‘easy’ victory for WP including Yahoo News which has promoting the Workers Party in all its news articles on the by-election so far.

Tan Jee Say is the one who split the votes and caused Tony Tan to ascend the presidential throne. In fact, if it wasn’t for this joker, Tan Cheng Bok would have been our president now.
Has Tony Tan spoken up for us Singaporeans ever since he became president? I can’t remember even once.

Zeng Guoyuan is an attention seeker. He will find an excuse later and will not contest the B-E

Anyone can recall, if I’m not mistaken this same old man was the one appeared dressed in a Malay costume “Baju Kurung” when he gave an interview with the press during the GE 2011. It seems this old guy is having a self identity problem. At certain time he wanted to be a Malay like in GE 2011, and this time BE 2012 he is a Chinese Singseh and maybe if he is still around in GE 2016 would be on something else with another appearance like maybe an Indian classical dancer.
His prominent weired behaviour suggest that this man is having a very acute mental problem. If that is the case the election department should prevent him to collect the nomination form to participate in the by-election in Hougang. The authority should be vigilance enough to look out for any mishief or trouble makers in order to ensure the election process is run smoothly without disturbance.

curious to know what topics he want to raise if he is in parliament. it’s the fad now for doctors to run for positions, like tan cheng bock, now sinseh. next GE we will see bomoh as well, shamans, witch doctors

Instead of being a candidate for the Hougang by-election, this so called acupuncturist should follow Subhas Anandan’s lead and offer free treatment if DesmondChoo wins. In fact he can collaborate with Subhas Anandan to make it a joint offer to Hougang residents, even share premises to make it a one stop service….
I see merit in such a deal because those not satisfied with the acupuncture treatment can immediately refer to Subhas for legal advice and of course vice versa…… extra long needles in Subhas’ hide for below par legal advice.

@ Mr Bean May 12 at 4.22 pm: Hahaha, agree with u totally. Between the 2 of them, there will be a real legal puncture in Desmond Choo’s ‘independent’ posturing that Hougang voters will laugh all the way to the electoral box to vote him out for his exposed PAPie underdog skin.
