Singaporeans and Hong Kongers hurl insults at PRC netizens in a fierce exchange on Youtube

A fierce exchange between Singaporean and PRC netizens happened on the Youtube video of the Ferrari accident with Hong Kongers joining the fray as well!
The shocking video of the accident which showed a red Ferrari driven by PRC man Ma Chi beating the red light and speeding across the junction between Rochor Road and Victoria Street to crash into a Hyundai Sonata taxi garnered more than 100,000 views in a day.
Ma Chi died on the spot while the cabby Singaporean Cheng Teck Hock and his Japanese passenger Shigemi Ito passed away from their injuries hours later in the hospital.
Besides Singaporeans venting their anger at Ma Chi, Hong Kongers also joining the ‘fight’ against the ‘locusts’, as the PRC Chinese are called in Hong Kong:
The torrent of insults caused one angry PRC netizen working in Singapore to retaliate in kind:
“能在新加坡工作居住是看得起你们，能在这个网上留言的中国人哪个*都比你优秀！有本事就努力学习，好好工作把我们挤出去，不要天天*拿MC，还说别人抢你饭碗！！”
The PRC netizen said they are giving Singapore ‘face’ by working and living here and added that every PRC netizen who posted on the video are ‘better’ than Singaporeans.
The Chinese embassy has issued a statement yesterday urging its citizens to obey the laws of Singapore.
The collective massive outpouring of anti-foreigner sentiments online in the aftermath of the accident is a clear indication that the government’s attempts to integrate the new immigrants with Singaporeans have failed miserably.
It is time to review our immigration policies and to revise present plans to integrate large number of non-English PRC immigrants into Singapore society.

The huge hue and cry over the admission of so many PRCs into Singapore as a quick fix for the declining Chinese population
is obviously taking a toll environmentally and socially. So far, it is a pity that the government have not come out to clarify the
rationale behind this immigration policy change as obviously it must have received careful consideration and deliberation before implementation. But once again whatever the reasons, they have now been proven wrong. It is no point crying over spilled milk but what solutions can the government now take to at least alleviate the “hatred” before it goes out of hand.

Immigrants/foreign talent from Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Western countries have been coming to Singapore since the 1980s (or earlier) and Singaporeans were generally fine with them in the 1990s and early 2000s. Adding 1 million foreigners to the population over a span of 20 years is palatable.
But almost 2 million new foreigners within a short span of 5 years from 2006 to 2012? – it’s not realistic for the government to expect integration just like that.

Hi Justice, Let us put the mass influx of PRC in SG aside for a while and look at things in perspective.1. China has billions of people and it is not surprising that they can have a lot of talents and I mean real talents, smart people. 2. It is also true that they have a lot number 1 including taking over Singapore as WORLD number 1 port (Shanghai) since 2010. We cannot continue to look down on PRC. Let us also be fair to the people from China. There are bad ones and I am 100% sure there are good ones around as well – educated, nice kind etc What has been commented by the PRC is not totally wrong and they are facts.. PM Lee and his team continue to allow mass influx of foreigners for their own gain. The problem here in Singapore is not the PRCs or Indians or Pinoys though SOME of them can be a real pain in the ass. What I am saying here is we should see and accept things as they are. We should not feel insulted when it is real. We just need to be stronger. We have to target the root of the problem (policies) and not getting misled by such petty arguments. Singapore miss the chance in 2011 GE. Hougang by-election is the time we can again show to our government our feelings. I hope HG residents are not going to disappoint me. Our next chance, sad to say will have to be in 2016. 4 years later if things remain unchange.

I do admit this whole saga is a bit bias.. It’s amazing the way an accident can cause such sentiments. It’s just so happened that the driver is a PRC. And yes, he is rich. If it’s a Singaporean, there wouldn’t be such an uproar. But on a different note, I do observe a lot of PRC do seems to drive ‘differently’ from other SG drivers. And by the fact that he’s traveling at that speed on a minor road shows that he had no regards to ppl’s life, somehow, arrogant, maybe due to the fact that he’s rich, or intoxicated, or to impress the lady beside. LOL
An advise to PRCs. 入乡随俗. Be humble, be it rich or poor. When S’porean goes JB, we toned down and follow their custom. When you come to SG, don’t ever expect us to follow your custom, for we won’t. We are called Singaporean for a reason.

I am a Singaporean and I would like to share my observation on the foreigners working here. Amongst the foreign workers, PRC are hard-working but they show less respect to the locals and they seem difficult to settle into our local culture. India seem well-settled here but they are coward and lazy. They want to climb high as fast as possible but at the expense of others. They are smart but they are cunning.

It is not about giving face to go which ctry to work. If u are doing fine why u want to leave your hometown and miss all your family relatives n friends.
