Deutsche Bank: We confirm Angelo Marc Jandugan is ‘currently’ not our employee

Posted by temasektimes on May 2, 2012

After receiving numerous complaints from angry Singaporeans today on the behavior of its alleged employee Angelo Marc Jandugan who sparked nationwide outrage with his snide remarks about Singaporeans, Deutsche Bank posted a reply on its Facebook page this evening:

“We can now confirm that the person in question (Angelo Marc Jandugan) is not currently a Deutsche Bank employee.”

The reply prompted one Singaporean to ask immediately if Angelo Marc Jandugan was ever under the employment of Deutsche Bank.

A Filipino new citizen and grassroots leader who obtained his citizenship only in 2009, Angelo Marc Jandugan peeved off many Singaporeans by challenging them to leave Singapore if they are unable to compete with his people (from Philippines):

“Face the new reality, migrate somewhere else cause you can’t stop more of my people from coming here.”

According to his Facebook page, Angelo Marc Jandugan graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman and is currently working at Deutsche Bank, Singapore. He is probably earning much more here in Singapore than back home.

The University of the Philippines Diliman, is ranked 332 by QS, and 753 by webometrics but can’t be found on the list of THE and ARWU.

Deutsche Bank’s surprising response led some netizens to speculate if Angelo Marc Jandugan may have published erroneous and misleading information about his occupation to show off to to the public.

Angelo Marc Jandugan has since deleted his Facebook page. Before he did so, he reportedly posted a lengthy apology on Facebook:

Singaporeans lodge complaint against Pinoy new citizen Angelo Marc Jandugan on his employer’s Facebook

Posted by temasektimes on May 2, 2012

A massive outcry has erupted over insensitive remarks made by Pinoy new citizen Angelo Marc Jandugan, prompting many irate Singaporeans to lodge complaints against him on his employer Deutsche Bank’s Facebook page.

In a reply to a Singapore NSman Mark Lee, Angelo Marc Jandugan remarked rudely that he has a ‘loser mentality’ and asked him to migrate elsewhere:

“Face the new reality, migrate somewhere else cause you can’t stop more of my people from coming here.”

According to his Facebook page, Angelo Marc Jandugan graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman and is currently working at Deutsche Bank, Singapore. He is probably earning much more here in Singapore than back home.

The University of the Philippines Diliman, is ranked 332 by QS, and 753 by webometrics but can’t be found on the list of THE and ARWU.

Since the beginning of the day, Singaporeans have been bombarding Deutsche Bank Facebook page with numerous complaints about Angelo Marc Jandugan:

Some comments left on its Facebook:

“Deutsche Bank… You have a Filipino employee by the name of ” Angelo Marc Jandugan” who is working in Singapore. Pls look at this article and transfer this trash away from my country. My country does not welcome this kind of trash !!!” – Hong Wei Zhong

“our organisation does not deserve an employee who lacks ethics, integrity, and who create racial tensions in a multi racial society like Singapore. WE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY FOR HIS POSTS ON FACEBOOK!!!” – Dennis Chua

“This Deutsche staff is so free, everyday can go onto social media to challenge and insult the people of his adopted work Country. And Deutsche Bank can even claimed they promote Corporate Social Responsibility on their website, what a joke. Pls sack this guy before things get out of hand.” – Bret Goh

The saga highlights the growing divide between native Singaporeans and the new citizens even as the government continues to exhort them to make the newcomers feel ‘welcomed’ in Singapore.

Pinoy new citizen ticked off NSman: You have such a LOSER mentality!

Posted by temasektimes on May 1, 2012

He did not serve a single day of National Service and became a Singapore citizen only two years ago at the invitation of the PAP government, but Angelo Marc Jandugan behaves as if he is the rightful owner of Singapore and ticked off a Singapore NSman like nobody’s business!

Angelo Marc Jandugan has earlier implored PM Lee to ignore the ‘noise’ made by Singaporeans and continue his ‘good policy’ of bringing more foreigners into Singapore:

“Hello sir, on behalf of all the Filipino community in Singapore and new citizens like myself, we thank you so much for believing in us and I hope you will continue your good policy of bringing more people from all over the word to take Singapore forward.”

[Source: PM Lee's Facebook]

His insensitive remarks were bombarded by many angry Singaporeans, one of whom is Mark Lee who served two and a half years of National Service and ten years of reservist in a combat unit to protect the likes of Angelo Marc Jandugan and other foreigners.

When Mark wrote to Angelo Marc Jandugan to protest against his remarks, Angelo Marc Jandugan gave him a tongue-lashing:

“You have such a LOSER mentality. You have to wake up….We have people earning so much than you guys..”

He also revealed he became a citizen in 2009 and boasted about having people in the PAP grassroots organizations:

“For your info, I became a citizen in 2009 and voted for GE2011. We have people in your grassroots, RC and PA. We have new citizens who have gone on to become MPs in Punggol.”

He ended his rant at Mark by saying he has the support of the PAP government:

“….we have the FULL support of your government and we love them. They believe in our talent. Face the new reality, migrate somewhere else cause you can’t stop more of my people (from Philippines) from coming here.”

Mark Lee may have served his National Service faithfully and even sustained injuries during his stint, but he is still considered  a ‘second class citizen’ in Singapore compared to newcomers like Angelo Marc Jandugan whom the PAP government has been exhorting Singaporeans constantly to make them feel ‘welcomed’ in Singapore.

Speaking at a forum recently, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said:

“Singaporeans need to do their part to make newcomers feel welcome, and to help them imbibe the values that have made Singapore strong as a society.”

With new citizens like Angelo Marc Jandugan supplanting native Singaporeans, it may be their responsibility to make us feel ‘welcome’ in Singapore instead.

Pinoy new citizen urges PM Lee to ignore Singaporeans and continue to bring more foreigners into Singapore

Posted by temasektimes on April 27, 2012

Instead of serving as a platform to reach out to the online community, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s newly set up Facebook page has been turned into a ‘slugfest’ of sort between native Singaporeans and foreigners with the former filing numerous complaints on it with the latter defending the government.

One Filipino new citizen Angelo Marc Jandugan posted a comment defending PM Lee on his Facebook asking him to ignore Singaporeans who have been imploring him to reduce the inflow of immigrants.

“PM Lee, I have absolute faith in you and I hope you don’t get distracted listening to all these sarcastic naysayers…they only know how to complain without offering credible solutions…..”, he wrote, sounding exactly like a PAP apologist.

He also called on PM Lee to hire more ‘talented foreigners’ and not be swayed by public opinion on immigration policies:

“I am so proud to have made Singapore home for me and my family and the credit goes all to you and your efficient govt. I hope you will not be distracted from your policies of hiring more talented foreigners to take this young nation forward. You must stay firm to your beliefs and not be swayed by public opinion on immigration policies.”

According to his Facebook page, Angelo Marc Jandugan graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman and is currently working at Deutsche Bank, Singapore. He is probably earning much more here in Singapore than back home.

Angelo Marc Jandugan need not be too worried as the Singapore government has proclaimed its intention to mass-import more ‘foreign talent’ like himself into Singapore as exemplified by a statement released by the National Talent and Population Division under the Prime Minister’s Office two days ago:

“We will continue to ensure that we take in immigrants who are of good quality and able to integrate well into our society.”

The University of the Philippines Diliman, is ranked 332 by QS, and 753 by webometrics but can’t be found on the list of THE and ARWU.

Some responses from netizens on PM Lee’s Facebook:

“Angelo Marc Jandugan, i guess when war happen and you and your family is the 1st to fly out of singapore. “your singapore”.. lol” – Marco Koh

“Pinoy receiving all the benefits that our gov is providing them. Of coz they are praising our ” beloved” gov. Its like our gov are allowing FTs to enter your house and use your toilet and maybe have a fling with ur wife /gf and then telling u to move on and it’s unavoidable.
How wonderful.” – Calvin Tan
