MBS: We will work with management of retailers to ‘counsel’ staff who used dirty cloth to clean plates of customers

Posted by temasektimes on June 8, 2012

Marina Sands Bay has responded to complaints from netizens on a staff of one of its restaurants who proclaimed proudly on her Facebook of using dirty cloth to clean the plates of customers.

The post was made by an employee using the monicker of ‘Bella’ who was so pissed with a group of demanding Indian customers that she used a dirty cloth to wipe their plates and forks:

“I took our dirty table cloth and wipe their plates and fork/knife!! That’s what I did today!!” she posted on her Facebook.

In a comment posted on its Facebook, MBS said it has identified the staff responsible for the act and has confirmed that she is NOT a member of its staff.

As such, it will work with the management of its retailers to ‘counsel’ the staff to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future:

It is not revealed if any disciplinary actions have been taken against ‘Bella’, other than a ‘counseling’ sesion.

At least she is honest. How about those foreign waitresses and cooks who do things behind customers’ back?

  2. I love Bella said

For some reason, I agree with what she did.

    Good grief,

I’ve seen much of the world in my time and have NEVER seen such a deeply racist country as Singapore.

“Borat” could easily have been set in the Lion City.

Back my country, we already have elected a Black President; Barack Obama. When will Singapore elect a Malay President or PM? Hah.

Seriously, which rock did you just crawl out from. Betcha never heard of slavery nor segregation nor Rodney King.

In addition, you write suspiciously (badly) like the troll, Rob Monaco. So Rob Monaco was an asian woman all along?

Even though I am anti PAP, Vivian Balakrishnan is right.

These people can easily turn against the minorities in Singapore.

      Sad but true.

My goodness, the level of stupidity in the net is …. *face palm*

Singapore’s first president in 1965 was a Malay, my dear Kate. And in 1965, America just passed the Civil Rights Act that removed the restriction of the ballot on the basis of race, hence allowing blacks to vote.

And that, my dear Kate is YOUR country… *face palm* Hah?

please check some history before u crap here… dumbass

Hm, some history would be….We promoted our first Black General in 1940. Benjamin O. Davis, Sr. 77 years after the abolition of slavery. 60 years later, General Colin Powell progressed from Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to the National Security Advisor to Secretary of State.
We’ve had over 10 other Black Generals or Admirals in our history including one female and that’s just the military.

Can you say the same for Singapore? How many Malay Generals has Singapore appointed? Let alone one that has moved on to become Foreign Minister, à la Colin Powell?

Or for that matter, how many have distinguished themselves as college professors or in the fine or performing arts?

Can you honestly say your non-Chinese-Singaporean classmates had the same opportunities in life as you enjoyed?

We Westerners tend to be a bit more colour-blind. I’m maaried to a Black barrister. There is a common consensus among us foreigners that institutionalised discrimination seems to make Apartheid resemble a summer camp.

Biggie. Immediately after Singapore gained its independence, our first
        president appointed was a Malay.

“How many Malay Generals has Singapore appointed? Let alone one that has moved on to become Foreign Minister, à la Colin Powell?”

Colin Powell is of black and white ancestry, as is Barack Obama. They are not of the muslim faith. You should only shoot your mouth off when a actual black muslim man or woman gets elected president.

“Can you honestly say your non-Chinese-Singaporean classmates had the same opportunities in life as you enjoyed?”
This isn’t Malaysia nor Indonesia. Please don’t display your ignorance.

“We Westerners tend to be a bit more colour-blind.
Judging from how you’ve conveniently omitted Powell and Obama’s caucasian ancestry, I’d say.

        ” I’m maaried to a Black barrister. ”
Exactly which part of hicksville are you from, lawyers in the US are referred to as attorneys, not barristers.
