Ex-CNB Chief Ng Boon Gay to claim trial in sex-for-contract case
Posted by temasektimes on July 19, 2012
Ng Boon Gay was charged for corruptly with four counts of corruptly obtaining sexual gratification from Cecilia Sue Siew Nang (pic left), a sales manager with Oracle Corporation Singapore and formerly Hitachi Data Systems. He was accused of ‘allegedly’ having oral sex with her on four occasions, between June and December 2011.
Ng’s lawyers, Tan Chee Meng and Melanie Ho have taken issue with the charges, describing them as being too ‘general’. They were also unable to obtain further information from the Attorney-General’s Chambers on the details of the charges.
Mr Tan said that he will raise the point with the trial judge that his client will be prejudiced as the charges are “too general”, adding that the charges do not state what the alleged corrupt acts were, and do not specify what business interests were involved.
The case will be mentioned on 16 August.
