Pinoy ‘FT’ sneers at death of NSF Muhammad Fahrurrazi: It is part of your job

Posted by temasektimes on August 15, 2012

Even as the entire nation is grieving over the death of full-time National Serviceman (NSF) Lance Corporal Muhammad Fahrurrazi, a pinoy ‘FT’ working in Singapore is gloating over it.

LCP Fahrurrazi went missing last week during a training in Brunei and his body was found in a river yesterday. Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the cause of his death.

While most native Singaporeans are upset over the unfortunate incident, pinoy ‘FT’ Robert Intrepido felt there otherwise.

In a comment posted on Facebook, he wrote:

“Shit happens, its part of your job..”

His comments sparked a massive outcry among Singaporeans who roundly condemned him for it.

“whats up with this Robert Intrepido filipino going ‘shit happens, its part of your job..’? seriously no respect for somebody’s son who just passed away protecting the country people like you flee to. sigh.” – Mohd Taufiq

“Robert: I’ll say the same thing if you or your countryman dies in similar circumstances. You inconsiderate fool.” – Mohd Mutasim

According to information posted on his Facebook, Robert graduated from the University of San Agustin in the Philippines. Due to the government’s open-door immigration policies, a large number of pinoys have flocked to Singapore to study and work, making it one of the largest communities in Singapore.

All Singapore men have to serve two years of compulsory National Service. LCP Fahrurrazi is the fourth NSF in a training-related accident this year.

    • What do you think? You can make someone apologise to save his own skin, but you can’t make him feel remorseful. These guys look down on us and they’re here to rip us off. It’s as simple as that. The more goodies you dole out to attract them, the more they take you for granted.

I suspect this to on hindsight after we alrerted them.Perhaps backdated.Because there was absolutely no such mention in our MSM.

Which reminds me of the time in SAFTI when officers were commissioned. We had seasoned Malay soldiers in their late thirties still with a rank of LCP;saluting to nineteen year old Chinese ed (yes,we had Chinese schools than) officers who can hardly shoot straight.Seems time is still frozen for Malay soldiers in SAF.

He’s an inconsiderate fool as well as all of you who wished him to die as well as his family, his fellow men and worst his country. I’ts only Robert who commit mistake, doesn’t mean he’s a Filipino, all Filipino’s are like that. You guys don’t know each and everyone’s story so don’t mark all Filipino’s are same kind. Last night on my way home I saw an old lady who tripped down and land her face on the floor and I saw a Filipino Girl who helped her up, while on the corner I saw 2Singaporean Ladies murmurring and laughing instead of helping the old lady. Should I marked all Singaporeans like that as well? Of course not cause I know that not all Singaporeans are the same attitude and up bringing as well.

Think first before you speak (this goes with Robert also) what goes around, comes around and karma will just hit you especially if you are hoping nothing but bad things to other people. In the end it’s not between you and Robert or Singaporeans vs Robert or Singaporeans vs Filipino, It’ll be between You and God. Don’t wish or cursed certain country just because you despise someone, remember there are innocent little ones who deserve to live and see the world just like Muhammad Fahrurrazi.

  39. This one for my fellow citizen ............................ said

People become insensitive or inconsiderate when they take things for granted. It is the policies maker’s job to remind everyone that some of the good stuff that they receive so that they will not become insensitive. Or put it in the “shit” lingo, sometimes with the good intend of policies, but when implemented, shits happens, so it is part of your jobs to clean it up…….

Every son born in this land serves 2 (2.5% of one’s life if the lifespan is 80) years of NS to keep this place safe and the defence cost low. This is the good stuff that we receive and some may have taken this for granted. Everyone or family that has a son or relative who had served NS will not take this for granted as they understand what it takes and means. The challenges we have as a nation is, how to find a way to remind the new comers (new citizen or PR) such contribution and not to take this contribution for granted? And not to be insensitive?

I know for everyone that serves NS, no amount of monetary reward is sufficient if they do not want to serve. But then we should also take their love of for their country lightly and take their contribution for granted. Without insulting their contribution and their love for the country, imposing a Security Tax to PR and new citizen that has not serve NS (of course except for those with medical conditions) will serve as a reminder to both PR and new citizen that has not serve NS the contribution of the NS man and not to take the contribution for granted.

    Propose the following for consideration:

First, work out the each NS man contributions. The contributions can be estimated by take the past 18 years national lifetime average annual income and multiply by 2 (2 years). Lifetime earning average and not starting pay. (well 18 years to raise a son and soldier). Let’s say that the is estimated to be worked out to be S$50,000 per year.

Then, compute the 18 years average annual NS man enlisted. Let’s estimated on average the past 18 years, there is 20,000 NS man enlisted every year.

The estimated Annual Contribution can then be worked out, by multiplying the two numbers, in the example 20,000 x S$50,000 = S$1B per year.

Next, work out for the past 18 years, total number of PR and new citizen that has not serve NS, let’s estimate this to be 1M, for our working example. Then to serve as a reminder and making our PR and new citizen that has not serve NS of the contribution of our NS man, a Security Tax of S$1B/1M (contribution spread it equally) = S$1000 can be collected. Such reminder will help not to take those contribution for granted and reduce insensitivity of others. This will educe the potential conflicts and is a minute part of the bigger whole ( if polices makers are receptive, have better ideas coming) to help integration of the new comers.

The new citizen that has not serve NS but not the PR has the option to opt for serving 2 years NS instead of the security tax. I think most brother here will encourage them to opt for the 2 years NS options.

For old time sake, brothers, still remember this song sang during road march?

    ” Training to be soldiers
    Fight for our land
    Once in our life
    2 years of our time

    Have you ever wondered
    why must we serve
    Coz we love our land
And we want it to be free to be free

    Looking all around us
    People everywhere
    While they’re having fun
    We are holding guns

    Have you ever wondered
    why must we serve
    Coz we love our land
And we want it to be free to be free “

    • Kee Cheu said

      Hey, you calculate wrong liao….. $50,000 x 2 mah…. like below lah:

Also, the collected fund should use for NS, maybe to increase payout to those injured etc also better benefit etc

” First, work out the each NS man contributions. The contributions can be estimated by take the past 18 years national lifetime average annual income and multiply by 2 (2 years). Lifetime earning average and not starting pay. (well 18 years to raise a son and soldier). Let’s say that the is estimated to be worked out to be S$50,000 per year.

The estimated Annual Contribution can then be worked out, by multiplying the two numbers, in the example 20,000 x S$50,000 x 2 = S$2B per year.

Next, work out for the past 18 years, total number of PR and new citizen that has not serve NS, let’s estimate this to be 1M, for our working example. Then to serve as a reminder and making our PR and new citizen that has not serve NS of the contribution of our NS man, a Security Tax of S$2B/1M (contribution spread it equally) = S$2000 can be collected. Such reminder will help not to take those contribution for granted and reduce insensitivity of others. This will educe the potential conflicts and is a minute part of the bigger whole ( if polices makers are receptive, have better ideas coming) to help integration of the new comers. “

    • This one for my fellow citizen ............................ said

Oh yes, it should be 2×50,000×20,000/1M= S$2,000 per year for as long as they choose to stay here. And as soon as they has a offspring serve NS, they will be exempted from the scheme. The annual revenue of S$2B, should be use for the benefit of NS man (be it for compensation, training, leisure or even assistance if their family is financially challenged while they are serving NS etc)

I think this will help in the integration.

        Copy paste?

You tell me who is wrong.

People who come here and think they are big, and criticise the locals.

Or the locals who get offended by the criticism?

Go preach to those people lah. Wrong side fr you to preach to. The ppl who need advice are the ones who anyhow criticise locals.

This is outrageous! This young man died in the line of duty in protecting Singapore. Protecting our land and also protect the foreign talents. We should Robert idiot to repeal and apologise. If not we will csi him down and cause him to lose his job and get him to get out from Singapore. What is this? Someone enjoys our fruits but not contributing to Singapore and dare to say such things. Go back to his hometown which is now cursed by storm and flood.

I’m currently a poly student under the JPSDS scheme…. thus i would be spending 5 years of my life (voluntarily) in NS. However, I’m extremely disgusted that i would have to protect foreign junks like him.

Seriously, what you did right there is inappropriate. We all have the right to express our thoughts but if you have nothing good to say, then keep your big ugly fat mouth shut!

We all must be thankful that sg has accepted us, but look on what you are doing? If you don’t want the locals to look down on us, then prove it! Do good instead of making comments like that. .

As you have said yourself “shit happens”, then this would mean that this is your shit. Your shit just affected the filipino community. Your actions are affecting others who are just trying to make a living here!

My condolences to the family of the deceased. .

You are here in a foreign country. And retards like him, make those kind of comments about us locals here. Trying to incite tension ah? Wont that only make things harder fr you here? As if they dont care like that?

You think locals will be more receptive with this kind of behaviour?

You seem sensible. You should remind your countrymen.

  57. AngryAngry said

In the event of a national crisis or war, i wont be protecting people like him. I will gladly give my life to protect our land, and our people, we know who we all are, brothers in arms, my fellow Singaporeans.

Bt not him and not those like him.

    Just remember that.

Why won’t any of the ministers come out with a strongly worded statement condemning such snide remarks by aliens who are guests here and mocking the host? They keep quiet and this fuels our deepest suspicions that they are simply too pro-foreigner even if citizens got slapped by these foreigners.

    • AngryAngry said

This Pinoy’s Degree is fake & bought off from Pedro Street in Philippines for only US$17.00. The MOM should verify the authenticity of his degree with the University or the Professors there. Same thing goes with most of the Pinoys working in Singapore holding fake degrees and management positions in Singapore. I have repeated this statement many time on the internet, but the Ministry of Manpower does nothing.

    • Big Headed said

i’ve seen some of their dodgy certificates degree
the MOM just keep letting them in.. and our local company likes to employ pinoy than locals…why shit like this happen??
i never been racist before living in this multicultural country…but pinoys are just arrogant bastards!!

      • AngryAngry said

People in HR have never really been meticulous anyway what.

One min job, call uni to check qualification also skip.

Before this also, ppl in the working world, majority like what, 80% all kengsters. Ppl who want to work, need jobs, no chance unless got connections high up immediately open slot.

HR. tsk. The one thing you should do, your job, to manage ppl. And this is the level of nonsense they crap out.

No small wonder really that they dont check all the fake certs also.

Too many of the Philipinos degrees are fake and I believed MOM knew about it but they can’t take any action as it might cause a big problem to employers. Moreover, there isn’t enough space at Changi or Queenstown.

not a good idea for pinoys to serve NS. can trust them ?
serve as cooks = food will taste like shit
serve as drivers = vehicles will end up in longkangs
serve as storemen = supplies will start to disappear
serve as clerks = files missing, reports need translation, ( eg, park becomes fark )
serve as bar-tenders in officers mess = booze will deplete faster than normal
serve as mechanics in airforce = pilots will ask for extra parachutes
serve as mechanics in navy = sailors will ask for extra lifevests

serve as singers, musicians, drama artistes……..too easy, right ?

I salute everyone who serves in the Armed Forces. It’s a no easy task to dedicate your life for the protection of your loved ones, and the country itself. May you rest in peace Muhammad. And may your Allah and my God give your family consolations at this hard times.

I’m a Filipino and I’m strongly against fellow Filipinos who likes to brag their lousy & cocky attitudes towards people who they should be respecting especially they are here in Singapore to live and work peacefully, and not to create troubles. It’s a sad truth that some have the nerves to disrespect other people especially Singaporeans and the Singapore government wherein we should be the one to show respect first.

No wonder we are being generalised.😦 And I just have to live at that.

    • mark noypi said

rannie you sure does carry balls way up above your head… your saying we are being generalised? read all d racist comment again and tell me who’s disrespecting who. ” shit happens its part of your job” for that 7 words many individuals gives a different meaning and gives a lot of nasty comments, so whats d real topic actually the nsf who died? or robert?

NS Is NOT our job. We were forced into it.
What the government should do is to impose a higher tax on foreigners to compensate ALL males who are serving or have served who had to waste their time in the military to defend the wealth of the rich and security for foreign talents; and take care of those who are struggling in life and especially those who had sustained injuries during NS.
