Singapore women young and old offer sex online in their hunt for sugardaddies

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

The recent ‘sex for tender’ scandal involving ex-SCDF Chief Peter Lim Sin Pang and the ongoing underage prostitute sex scandal implicating several high-level government officials have shocked the entire nation and raised serious questions on the degeneration of moral values in today’s modern society.

While Singapore’s laws are skewed largely in favor of women, especially the Woman’s Charter which protects their rights and interests, the reality on the ground is that an increasing number of them are willing parties initiating ‘deals’ with men to sell their bodies in exchange for financial gains.

Besides a thriving social escort industry which provides ample opportunities for Singapore women to make a quick buck, many are openly soliciting for ‘sugardaddies’ online.

In a popular forum for expats, three postings were posted by three different women aged 21, 25 and 34 a few hours apart today looking for ‘sugarboyfriends’ or ‘sugardaddies’:

The 21 year old girl is still studying and is looking for a man to provide her with a ‘good’ monthly allowance:

The 25 year old woman admitted that her ‘bones are structured to be a mistress’:

The 34 year old woman just want a regular sex companion in exchange for ‘benefits’:

With good jobs becoming scarcer and unemployment rate likely to go up amid uncertain economic conditions ahead, we should expect more Singapore women, both single and married offering their bodies in exchange for monetary gains.

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

The 24 km road march during Basic Military Training (BMT) is a compulsory ‘ritual’ for all recruits before they can pass out. However one Singapore girl does not seem to think much of it.

Miss Ong posted a single word on a Facebook photo depicting a group of NSFs doing the road march:

“LOSER”

Her view was shared by another Singapore girl Jennifer Wong who retorted:

“What is the big deal?”

Her comment sparked an outroar in Hardwarezone forum with many forumers condemning her for it.

According to information posted on her Facebook, Angie Ong is currently studying Business at Nanyang Technological University:

All Singapore-born males have the serve two years of compulsory National Service followed by many more years of reservist to protect the nation to provide a safe and secure environment for foreigners from all over the world to find work and enjoy life in Singapore.

Drunk Singaporean arrested for scolding PRC carpark warden ‘Go back to China!’

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

When a PRC family of five ‘hijacked’ a SBS Transit bus for five hours, the Singapore police dared not arrest them and even ‘escorted’ them down the bus after a taxi was called for them. However, when a Singaporean raised his voice at a PRC carpark warden, he was arrested on the spot.

A Singaporean man in his 50s who appeared to be drunk tried to borrow money from a PRC carpark warden doing his rounds, but was rebuffed. He then shouted at him repeatedly to ‘go back to China’.

The PRC carpark warden was peeved and called the police who arrived in double-quick time to arrest the Singaporean for ‘disorderly behavior’.

Despite the arrest, the PRC carpark warden refused to let the matter rest and said he intends to pursue it using whatever means possible.

Singapore woman lodged complaint to MBS and STB on Ku De Ta becoming a ‘prostitution joint’

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

An angry Singaporean woman has lodged a complaint to both Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Tourism Board on a restaurant located at its skypark – ‘Ku De Ta’ becoming a ‘prostitution joint’ for foreign women.

The woman claimed that on both visits to ‘Ku De Ta’, she noticed several women dressed in ‘distasteful and ultra-skimpy’ dresses loitering around the club preying on foreign men.

“In one instance, a woman dressed in a similarly skimpy fashion approached two of my male friends who had just arrived from London when their girlfriends had left for a quick tour of MBS,” she wrote.

She added that the women hopped from one table to another and appeared to come alone with no friends or partners.

“I am surprise that Ku De Ta allowed such women to solicit for sex at their premise. Customers paid a surcharge to enter the posh club, but at the end of the day, Ku De Ta is no better than a club in Tanjong Pagar.”

In response, a manager from MBS Wangelin Sum replied that the management of Ku De Ta has ‘acknowledged’ the concerns raised and reassure her that a ‘stringent procedure’ remains in place to discourage and evict any ‘undesirable’ activities taking place in Ku De Ta:

Unemployed Singaporean recalled ‘depressing and painful’ experience

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

I was unemployed for almost 6 months til I was finally given an opportunity at my current workplace. Even pleading for a job won’t help.

My wife has just given birth to a pair of twins and its my 3rd and fourth child. Some of the companies’ HR have actually told me that I was not really in a dire state coz my wife is still working. But with what she’s earning (2200 a month), we struggled a lot juz to make ends meet!! I even maxed out my credit card juz so to have our fridge and stomachs filled.

Luckily there was baby bonus for the twins that we HAD to use to buy milk powders and pampers for them. Essential items for the kids are provided but for the rest of us, very depressing. My wife had a minor depression as financially we were at our wits end.

I sent a total of 647 resumes in total via JobsDB and Jobstreet. I even lost count on the ones I sent from ads in the papers. And painful fact, I only attended 4 interviews, 6 open/mass interviews out of the many applications I made. By the way, I applied for any job in the market that’s available. I’m a double private diploma holder in Visual Comms and Sociology, have 12 years working experience in Shipping and Interior sales line altogether.

I even applied for physical jobs like cleaners and security. Still rejected. 6 months of such depressing and painful experience, where did I go wrong? Till now I still wonder.

DPM Teo: I am concerned about the many ‘lies’ in the New Media

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean has expressed his concerns about the many ‘untruths and lies’ found in the New Media.

Speaking in response to a question by a JC student during the recently held Pre-University seminar on the issue of press control in Singapore, DPM Teo said all countries, including the democratic ones have some sort of press control.

He used the example of the United States to illustrate the ‘demise’ of the mainstream media and of its media becoming an ‘echo chamber’ for people to hear only what they believe in.

“The more important question is how to have a responsible media. When I see some of the things going on in the New Media, I am quite concerned about it because there are untruths a lot of lies out there…,” he said.

DPM Teo added that what Singapore needs to have is a ‘responsible’ media to facilitate a ‘reasonable’ discussion among Singaporeans instead of ‘shouting’ at each other.

There is no independent media in Singapore. The only print media company Singapore Press Holdings is owned by the Singapore government while the only broadcasting station MediaCorp is owned by Temasek Holdings which in turn is owned by the Ministry of Finance.

The Singapore media is ranked 150th globally in terms of press freedom by U.S. NGO Freedom House this year.

Singaporeans outnumbered by Filipinos by 7 to 1 in job interview

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

Yesterday I went for a job interview. Out of 40 interviewee, about 35 are Pinoys. After they filtered off to 5, only 1 Singaporean (me!) shorlisted, the rest four are Pinoys. Got to wait for second round of interview.

I really felt like I was in the Philippines yesterday when everyone talked in Tagalog. And when they realised that I am a Malay, they claimed that Malays look like Filipinos and they thought I am a Malaysian.

They asked why are Malaysians preferred over other foreigners. I simply said thats because Malaysians have been us since independence and can speak our languages. And I am shocked to know that even up till yesterday the government is still issuing out S-passes to a newly graduated Pinoys to look for jobs here. Some are PRs yesterdays.

Tan Chuan-Jin urged Singaporeans to keep the ‘kampung spirit’ alive

Posted by temasektimes on June 10, 2012

Minister of State for National Development Tan Chuan-Jin has called on Singaporeans to keep the kampung spirit alive in order to promote community ties and effort.

Speaking during a community event in Yishun on Saturday, Mr Tan said the spirit of the kampung, which is the Malay word for village, can serve as a source of strength and a unique way to anchor Singaporeans to their country.

“To me the kampong spirit really is about getting together as a community, rather than on your own playing with your PSP or XBox or your iPad. … I think a lot of these games and the things you see here is about hands on experience, building your own toys, making your own games and actually playing it,” he said.

The carnival features kampung games such as “five-stones” and “capteh”, as well as a mini-exhibition on kampung life. Singapore was a Malay fishing village before Sir Stamford Raffles founded it in 1819 and turned it into a thriving port of call.

Mr Tan added that it takes a lot of ‘patience’ and ‘discipline’ to cultivate the kampung spirit:

“A lot of it is about patience. It’s not instant gratification and you need time, you need discipline. Which is something we don’t have a lot of. It also encourages children and adults to be more disciplined and to actually spend time building something.”
